I lost my keycard again. If there was an award for keycard misplacement here at Martelschmidt Hammermill Bank*, I would take gold every time. I do more misplacement of my goddamned keycards than I do actual work. This is partially due to the fact that I wear my keycard, dangling just below my pocket on its retractable cord thing, at every available opportunity because it looks interesting paired with my neverending henley, jeans and boots combo, has my full name on it for easier Craigslist missed connections and never has my actual photo because I carefully and painstakingly use the office equipment to print, crop and apply photos of meth addicts or James Brown over my own sleep-starved face, which makes for a good conversation piece with bag check girls, drunks and women on the elevator.
Except today. Today I remembered I do have a photo of myself that represents not only my feelings regarding my current occupation but also technically skirts the questionable legality of doctoring my building ID.
Ah, look at it. Look at what love will do.
*Not my bank’s actual name.
